Platular Welded Plate Heat Exchangers

Barriquand was created in 1936 by André and Johanes Barriquand the BARRIQUAND group specializes in heat exchangers.
In 1992 Barriquand joined SFPI, an international group, which currently generates a turnover of 433 million euros and employs 3800 people spread around the world.

Since 1936, Barriquand is specialized in the design and fabrication of heat exchangers and industrial sterilizers. The group is composed of four complementary companies organized by product lines, and belongs to the SFPI Group.

Barriquand Technologies Thermiques offers an industry at the forefront of technology in the heart of the Rhone-Alpes region. Our company owns two large industrial sites and its head office is located in Roanne, 100 km west of Lyon.

Barriquand is the inventor of the Platular smart hybird welded plate heat exchanger technology. It has been developing its know-how for industrial process treating charged fluid.

Platular welded plate heat exchanger is perfect to use for many industries like Oil and Gas and Petrochemicals.

Advantages

  • Exclusive patented technology
  • Custom manufacturing in France
  • For viscous and / or difficult fluids
  • Fully visitable and openable, easy to maintain

The Platular® fully welded plate heat exchanger’s thermal performance and minimal temperature approach is particularly suitable for exchanges on difficult, viscous fluids or fluids charged with suspended materials, but also for the condensation of vapor under vacuum (steam, C.O.V…). Thanks to the multi-pass design possibilities on each circuit, the Platular® is also well suited for lengthy exchanges.

Cleaning – Main Benefits of the Platular® technology

• Free flow channels on the process side with a generous gap between the plates
• No process connection nozzles to remove (prior to opening access covers)
• Access covers are hinged, no need for lifting devices or scaffoldings
• Hydro jetting equipment can be introduced inside the channels from both ends of the units
• Doors can be opened and closed in a very short time, simply with a pneumatic wrench to remove the nuts
• Gaskets on access covers are located in a groove and are easy to replace if necessary
• Free flow channels tend to increase operation times between cleaning and hence reduce cleaning frequency (hence routine cleaning is easier to predict and schedule)
• Cleaning can be performed onsite, no need to take the heat exchanger to a dedicated workshop
